I am not and will not pretend to be a ‘perfect’ yogi, but through yoga I have become more true to myself and hope to help others do the same. The physical practice has built strength and increased flexibility, whilst the benefits on my mental and emotional health are immeasurable.
I studied my first YTT in 2016 through which I felt I just dipped a toe into understanding the many aspects of yoga, and followed this with a second YTT in 2020 to help satisfy my desire for more (always more!). I love how yoga combines the subtle body and the physical, and that ANY BODY can do yoga.
I am not a strict one-style of yoga practitioner or teacher ~ I will often combine styles to create a practice which meets my needs in that moment. I love mixing both long and short holds, strong with soft, ‘real’ yoga with ‘insta yoga’. For me, yoga is a source of joy in addition to being a serious and important part of my life. When I fall out of balances I laugh, then reflect on what it was that caused me to fall. In the words of J.R.R Tolkien, yoga is the “light in dark places when all other lights go out.”
